Long ago, the radiant kingdom of Tulukia flourished, its joyful people living in harmony with nature and one another. Mermaids glided through the seas, nurturing marine life, while the land bloomed with vibrant wildflowers and crystal streams feeding a great lake. Deeply spiritual, the people revered their gods: Damballah, the wise serpent who shaped the earth; Ogun, the fierce god of warriors and justice, safeguarding the realm; and Oshun, the goddess of beauty and fertility, blessing the land with abundant harvests and healthy children. Peaceful trade and joyous celebrations defined their days. But on a chilling night, a ferocious fire erupted in the valley, sparked by Talou, the malevolent god of destruction. The gods united to stop him, but Talou’s overwhelming power consumed homes and crops, leaving devastation in its wake. He cursed Damballah, Ogun, and Oshun, binding them to their domains, only to be freed by sacred offerings from their scattered people, whom Talou banished to a hidden realm. In defiance, the people sounded a sacred horn, its resonance shaking the universe and accelerating time itself. Now, years later, Talou and his demonic forces dominate Tulukia, yet whispers of hope persist among the exiled, who await a destined warrior to rise, defeat the dark god, and restore their beloved kingdom in this epic, unfolding saga.

What inspired Arlo and the kingdom of Tulukia?
As the writer and creator of this series, I’ve infused the narrative with conflicts and life struggles inspired by my own experiences and observations of society. My goal was to craft a story where characters not only overcome these challenges but also grow and learn from them. I firmly believe readers will not only fall in love with the storyline but also deeply connect with the characters, relating to the trials they face and the lessons they embrace.

One of the main things a character goes through is the feeling of loneliness and longing for connection with others. recent data suggests around 17-21% of U.S. adults (approximately 44-52 million people) experience significant loneliness. This story I hope will not just show a way out of depression and loneliness but also help people realize they are not alone.
